Team Coach

Chris played basketball in high school and into college at Wheaton College. He has coached for 12 years including seven years with Ignite. In college, Chris was a member of the laser tag club, as well as the stuffed-animal collectors club.

Chris believes that basketball is a challenging, dynamic, fast and fun sport. He loves the game not only for what it is, but also for what it, and athletics in general, teaches in the form of life lessons. Watching a group of individuals playing great basketball and working as a team is a lot of fun for him. Watching a group of individuals compete for love and a wedding ring on ABC’s “The Bachelor”, is also a lot of fun for him. He looks forward to Monday nights, when he can sit down, sip some Capri-sun, and enjoy his favorite show.

As an Ignite coach, Chris believes that the priorities of the program match with his own. He knows that developing young people to have the skill, work ethic, IQ and character that will serve them both on and off the court not only makes for better teams, but makes for better people in the long run, and he loves being a part of that.

Chris met his wife Sarah at Wheaton and were married in 1999.  They have three kids, David (2005), Jake (2007), Olivia (2010) and enjoy a busy life. They love the outdoors which can mean camping and hiking or just vacationing to see a new place. His #1 choice for R&R would be fly fishing on a river out west going after large trout which he’s done since he was 10 years old and loves that his kids have begun to get into it as well. Chris’s favorite movie is Toy Story and his favorite snack is intermittent fasting.
